Aguas Frescas near Long Beach CA

Most places in East Long Beach that carry agua fresca keep one container of horchata on the counter. It sits from opening through close, and by afternoon it shows.

At the Blue Burro E. 7th St. location, aguas frescas are made fresh each morning in three flavors: Horchata, Cucumber Pineapple, and Mango Orange. Real fruit, filtered water, and cane sugar. The same traditional method used in Mexican agua fresca preparation, with no powdered mixes, no concentrates, and no shortcuts taken to speed up production.

The menu runs all day from 9 AM to 10 PM, seven days a week, alongside the full food menu. Cold drinks made right, available at any point during the day.

Authentic Aguas Frescas in Long Beach

As part of our menu, we’re pleased to offer three amazing Long Beach Aguas Frescas for you to enjoy, each made with careful attention to both quality and flavor.

Horchata

Rice-based, cinnamon-forward, finished with whole milk and cane sugar. The sweetness is calibrated, not aggressive. Customers from East Long Beach who grew up drinking horchata at family meals order it and come back because this version is made the way they know it should be made.

Staff pick: Horchata with the adobada tacos. The cinnamon and the creaminess work directly against the char and spice of the pork in a way nothing carbonated comes close to.

Cucumber Pineapple

The cucumber is not a garnish. It changes the entire character of the drink, making it genuinely cooling rather than just cold. The pineapple adds tropical sweetness without pulling it into dessert territory. On a hot afternoon in August on E. 7th St., or after a morning on the Belmont Shore bike path, this is the order that does the most work.

First-time customers on warm days order Cucumber Pineapple at a higher rate than any other flavor. Most of them order it again.

Mango Orange

Ripe Ataulfo mango and fresh-squeezed orange. Tropical fruit and citrus that complement rather than compete with each other. The most approachable flavor for someone ordering agua fresca for the first time. The consistent repeat order for anyone who wants something fruit-forward alongside a breakfast burrito, quesadilla, or anything on the morning and midday menu.

Why Aguas Frescas Work at This Location

East Long Beach is not one community. The neighborhoods around E. 7th St. have different backgrounds, different relationships to agua fresca, and different reasons for ordering.

For the Latino community in Rose Park, Washington, and Cambodia Town, horchata and traditional fruit waters are not a novelty. They are part of a food culture built over generations. Horchata made with real rice and cinnamon either meets that standard or it does not.

For the CSULB and College Estates population, a cold agua fresca competes directly with soda and juice on flavor and value. Mango Orange is the flavor that converts first-time orders into regulars on that corridor.

For Belmont Shore and Bluff Heights customers coming off the beach or the 4th Street strip, Cucumber Pineapple covers a gap that coffee shops and cocktail bars on 2nd Street do not. Genuinely cooling, not just cold.

Three flavors. Three different communities. One menu that covers the full range without any of the three feeling like a compromise.
